The rain started to fall. A yellow butterfly flew to the nearest tree.
"Go away," said the tree. "There's no place for you here. You will hurt my flowers."
The butterfly went to the other trees, but none of them would accept him. The butterfly was very unhappy. He felt cold. His wings were getting wet.
"Those trees were very unkind to me. How much longer will I have to fly around before someone takes me in? I can't fly any longer," he told himself.
Then he heard a voice, "Come and rest here." The butterfly looked up. He saw the Ilang-Ilang tree. It was as big as the other trees.
"You don't have any flowers, do you?" asked the butterfly.
"No, I don't have any. What I have are green leaves. I am an incomplete tree because I don't have flowers."
The yellow butterfly took cover under the ilang-ilang leaves. When the rain was over, he opened his wings.
"Thanks a lot, ilang-ilang. You have helped me by letting me stay under your leaves. You are very king to me. Those other trees were unkind. They told me to go away when i took shelter under their leaves. You will see something on your branches tomorrow."
Then the butterfly flew away.
The following morning, the ilang-ilang smelled something sweet. From her branches came the sweet smell. She found flowers on her branches. They were the same color as her leaves. But they smelled very sweet. She remembered what the butterfly told her. She was so happy to have sweet smelling flowers.
That is how the ilang-ilang came to have flowers.__________________________________________________________
The words and sentences that are used are simple and easy to understand. The moral is "Be kind and share your blessings to others." Your blessings are just given by God and can be lost every time. If you share it with others, it will return to you much bigger or larger than the help that you had given to them.
